Responsible Play
Practical limits for safer use of money-based games.
Age and local rules
Use money-based games only if you meet the applicable age requirement and the activity is permitted where you are located.
Set limits first
Choose a fixed spending amount and time limit before opening a game. Money reserved for food, rent, bills, education, debt or emergencies should never be used.
Do not chase losses
A previous result does not make the next result certain. Increasing an amount to recover a loss can make the loss larger.
Recognise warning signs
Stop and seek support when play becomes secretive, causes borrowing, disrupts sleep or work, creates repeated conflict or feels impossible to control.
Protect the account
Keep passwords and verification codes private. Do not allow another person to control your device or wallet account.
Make a written budget
Record the maximum amount before play and include all deposits, not only the last one. Stop when the total reaches the chosen limit.
Use time reminders
Short rounds can hide how long a session lasts. Set an alarm and take breaks away from the device.
Keep gaming separate from income plans
Game results are uncertain and should not be treated as salary, investment return or a method for paying debt.
Talk early
Speak with a trusted person when spending becomes hidden or difficult to control. Early support is easier than waiting for a larger financial problem.
Use blocking and payment controls
Device limits, payment limits, bank controls and account restrictions can reduce impulsive access. Use them when self-set limits are repeatedly broken.
Emergency situations
When gaming contributes to severe distress, financial crisis or thoughts of self-harm, stop access and contact local emergency or crisis support immediately.
Protect family finances
Keep gaming money separate from shared household accounts where possible and never conceal losses or debts from people who depend on the same funds.
Notice emotional triggers
Avoid playing when angry, distressed, intoxicated or trying to escape another problem. Emotional pressure can weaken spending and stopping decisions.
Take a complete break
When limits repeatedly fail, remove the app, block payment methods and take a longer break instead of setting another immediate session limit.
